Hamza Hassan Biography

Hamza Hassan is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in East Atlanta. He moved to the States from Toronto, Canada when he was 14 and has fallen in love with Atlanta's Black art scene, community and the city's powerful creative expression ever since. He draws his inspiration from the creative peers around him who constantly teach him and invite him into their spaces to grow as an artist. Initially Hassan was focused on post secondary schooling, and later a career as an organizer... but one day, he asked fellow creative Joshua Rich about a cool creative hobby to integrate himself back into the arts scene. Joshua said “You’ve had a dope eye for as long as I’ve known you” and inspired him to pursue film photography. Hassan has been commissioned for behind the scenses photos at music videos, performance shoots at local festivals and cover artwork for emerging artists in Atlanta.
