Montenez “Monte” Lowery Biography
Montenez “Monte” Lowery, is an Atlanta-based photographer, and current student at Georgia State University majoring in Photography. Monte makes images around community and relationships between people, often centering black and brown bodies as the subjects. As a photographer he feels as though the relationship between him and the model is most important, for taking the photo to him is an intimate exchange where one's image is placed in his hands. With inspirations like Gordon Parks, Dante Maurice / Ahmad Barber and Philip Lorca diCorcia, Monte seeks to create images that stun not only others but also himself.
